Vintage Masters of the Universe - Commemorative Man at Arms and Zodac, Horde Trooper, Moss Man, Roboto, Sy-Klone, and Stratos

A new vintage toy shop opened up in my area this week. I'm not going to mention names but I didn't have a great time. A few weeks ago, a toy shop that I had frequented in the past began to share the posts of a new store that was opening near their location. As the pictures scrolled across my feed, my anticipation began to build. Just the thought of a new vintage toy store gave me the excitement that I used to have when I had birthday money to spend as a child. You know the feeling, it's the joy of open ended opportunities just being a fingertip away. As the days continued on, my joy began to turn into concern, no price tags. The store was posting lots of great stuff but there wasn't a single price listing to be seen. I don't know about you, but I have always found that disconcerting. I understand that the vintage toy industry has really become a sellers' market these days. I also completely understand that a brick and mortar store has to pay their bills so I...

Slime Pit Mania - 200x Mutant Slime Pit, Harry Potter Slime Chamber

I had some free time the other day and I just started binging through some old Pixel Dan reviews and I found the one where he covers all of the various Slime Pits that Mattel had produced over the years.  After watching that, I hit up my local Ebay and found the Mutant Slime Pit and the Harry Potter Slime Chamber! I had known about the Mutant Slime Pit for awhile now but for some reason it never really appealed to me. After watching that video and realizing that it also works as Skeletor's throne I was blown away. How had I never realized this?! So, I bought it, opened it, and played with it. It's pretty cool, kind of reminds me of the old Swamp Thing playset but I bought it for one reason and I needed to see how that worked in person. Specifically with my vintage Skeletor.  Yeah, as you can see, it is pretty cool. The old Snake Mountain playset was notorious for having a great outside but lame interior. This throne/slime pi...

Toy Hax Toy Stages - Palace Courtyard

As I've said before, Toy Hax is a wonderful company. Their Toy Stages are really cool and they have many options available. I had purchased the Palace Courtyard set to use with MOTUC figures in my old classroom. Since I've changed classrooms and am bringing things home, I decided to see how this looks with my vintage figures. Toy Stages sells displays in Small, Medium, and Large sizes but they also sell versions for large cube shelves. They do this in a way that cuts a massive image into 3 sections. If you combine these together it pretty much creates an Extra Large size. The individual images. You will notice some wear and creases on here but that is because I have had these in use for the last 3 years. These are crisp when you order them. Imperial Beasts Lot

When the vintage Masters of the Universe line came out, it was an out of the park, smash hit. Other companies wanted in on that MOTU cash so they produced similar toys for children to add to their collections. One of these companies was Imperial and two of their lines were Dragons, Knights, and Daggers and Robots, Lasers, and Galaxies. The box art alone were enough to tell children that He-Man would approve of these toys. Over the years, I was left with only the seat. Trying to find it online had proved torturous as fans had discovered their value and I refused to pay $100 for a rubber elephant.  Fate turned a new page for me this week, however, as one Ebayer decided to liquidate his massive collection of Imperial beasts. I decided to g...
