Super 7 Shadow Weaver

I really hope this isn't my final new 5.5 Masters of the Universe figure. With the news of Super 7 losing the MOTU license becoming official last week, my spirits dipped a tad bit. Yes, I know that Mattel is bringing in a new line but I really wish that Super 7 were allowed to keep their sub line of Filmation figures going. It would have in NO way taken away from what they were planning for the fall. Saying that, I really hope to see a Sorceress in the new line because figures like that are going to be the only ones I really purchase. Anyways, having a Shadow Weaver in this line is really cool. Her levitation stand is a nice touch. We've waited a long time for this sight. I need to get some more Horde Troopers. And can you imagine if we got a Super 7 Catra? Maybe we can get it from the Mattel line? Fingers crossed. Thanks Super 7!

Funko Savage World Thundercats Wave 2

2018 was an exciting time for me because we finally received Thundercats in the same scale as Masters of the Universe! It was a dream come true for myself and, I'm sure, many other children of the 80's. The excitement was unfortunately short lived as the factory that Funko worked with screwed up the plastics used on hip articulation. Many figure arrived with broken or soon to be broken crotches and Funko was dealt a pretty serious black eye. However, they worked hard to fix that issue but that also pushed back Wave 2 of Thundercats over a year. During that time, they went ahead with a mass market retail approach for a DC Comics universe in the Savage World style. While there were some nice toys in this line, especially the Bat Cave, the overall appeal to general audiences didn't seem to be there. A lot of planned Savage World lines seemed to get axed because of the gamble not paying off. Thankfully, Thundercats Wave 2 made the cut and began arriving this past quarter...

Custom Vintage style Swift Wind

Finally finished my custom Swift Wind for the Super 7 She-Ra! I used an Imperial rubber unicorn as the base figure. Besides the obvious new paint job, the torso was way too thick for She-Ra's legs. Luckily, the figure was hollow. I cut a hole in the bottom of the figure and used a zip tie to compress its waist. For the wings, I reused and repainted the wings from the vintage Zoar figure.  I'm very pleased with the final product as She-Ra and Swift Wind look great alongside He-Man and Battle Cat.

Super 7 Masters of the Universe Trap Jaw and Mer-Man

My fifth Super 7 MOTU set came in the mail today, Trap Jaw and Mer-Man! I've not liked everything in these releases. I think what honestly pulls me in on the figures that I do purchase are the head sculpts. Both of these guys have great faces that are truly upgrades over their vintage counterparts.    The card art is wonderful as always. Again, look at that face. This is the real winning element here, however other parts are not perfect. The hands and feet look like someone took a vintage figure, covered it with sculpey, and painted over it. Otherwise, everything else is fine. Stance problem from Man at Arms and Beast Man is non-existent here.    Trap Jaw is an almost perfect figure, the legs are little thin but I like the rest of the sculpt.
