Mega Construx Masters of the Universe - Battle for Eternia 5 Pack

Growing up in the late 80's and early 90's, I was able to enjoy the best of both decades. One of my all time favorites has always been Masters of the Universe. I grew up with the original toys all handed down to me by older cousins and I consumed all else that I could find. Secret of the Sword was a frequent Blockbuster rental at my house. On my 10th Birthday, a friend of mine tracked down a He-Man and Masters of the Universe cartoon VHS tape that I treasured. He even wrapped it in MOTU wrapping paper that I was very sad to have to rip open. I wasn't a fan of the New Adventures cartoon but my brother and I were sure to grab He-Man, Skeletor, and Flipshot from K B Toys. I watched as much of the 2002 series as I could but never was able to finish it until the DVDs were released. In 2008, I jumped in with everyone else on Masters of the Universe Classics. I was never able to subscribe but I cherry picked more than my fair share and jumped on every Matty Collector holiday sal

Mega Bloks Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2016 - Lord Zedd and Custom Squatt

So, 29 Blind Bags later, I completed the official collection with Lord Zedd. I've really enjoyed this series. Sure it is not the most detailed or articulated but there is just a certain fun factor that radiates from these figures. And now that it is complete, my focus has turned to what customs I can create. I've already posted about Rita Repulsa. By Zedd, she looks pretty great. Now I've added another custom with Squatt. It was challenging finding which lego pieces would best reflect the character. Here are my current Evil Space Alien leaders. I still have a few more in the works.

Mega Bloks Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2016 - Big Update

This will be a big update, as I had quite a few things all arrive around the same time! 1 - Titanus..?? Starting this collection began a massive Ebay search on my part to find other things that could help fill it out, specifically, something for Titanus. It didn't take along to find out that in 2003, Mega Bloks made a Brachio Zord for the Dino Thunder series. At first, the color scheme had me feeling a little iffy... but then I remembered that there had also been a special Titanus toy with similar colors.  Here it is compared with some other Zords. Obviously, the scale works pretty well. The Brachio Zord was supposed to function as a Command Center and Carrier, so it has some opening compartments. These were intended for minifigure sized Zords but they obviously work with the Rangers too. 2 - Megazord My second Megazord arrived this week. Even though I had already purchased one to make my custom Mastodon and Pterodactyl Zords, t

Mega Bloks Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2016 - Custom Dragonzord

In my first post, I wrote about my recent discovery and purchase of many of the Mega Bloks Mighty Morphin Power Ranger line. Collecting the major sets gave me the Tyrannosaurus, Tiger, and Triceratops zords, as well as the Command Center. I also bought a Megazord and created customs of the Mastodon and Pterodactyl zords. Obviously, these weren't perfect but I think they turned out pretty well considering I was only using spare parts from this line and some others I had.  Continuing that, I challenged myself to create a Dragonzord. I purchased another Tyrannosaurus to use as the base as well as more of the extra pieces I had. Again my goal is to keep the look of the zords from the line while getting as close as I can get with what I have. Like I said, not perfect but I like how it turned out. If I were to touch it up in the future, my focus would be on the chest plate. Here it is compared with the Tyrannosaurus. And again with my Mastodon Custom. The scal
