Super 7 Hordak and She-Ra 2 pack

As I've mentioned before, I was lucky growing up between the decades of the 80's and 90's. I was the right age to have TMNT, the rebirth of G.I. Joe, and the X-Men but also benefit from the collections and fandoms of my older cousins. I was one of the few kids my age who had an extensive collection of Star Wars, M.A.S.K., G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, and Masters of the Universe. And, as I've also mentioned before, Masters of the Universe is probably my favorite franchise, so of course I had the vintage Hordak.

The Horde was such an intriguing group of villains, whereas Skeletor ruled a group of territorial warlords, Hordak was the leader of a technologically advanced army with hideous generals at his side. I was also lucky enough to have Leech and Mantenna, both of whom have better figure appearances than their animation counterparts. Now, I never had a She-Ra figure but I did have Teela. With all of that in mind, when I saw the prototypes for Super 7's Filmation inspired vintage line, I knew I wanted to get the She-Ra and Hordak.

(As an aside, the He-Man and Skeletor don't really appeal to me. I'm not fan of the head sculpts or that their harnesses don't fit properly.)

I've never been a mint on card collector, though I do collect card backs, so these guys didn't stay in their package for long.

These are really cool figures but I do have some nitpicks. The legs don't use rubber bands and utilize the swivel joints from later in the line. That isn't a huge issue but it does add some height over the previous releases. Also, their leg joints are VERY stiff so I have to be extra careful.

They do fit in well with the originals...

...and with the new Thundercats. So, definitely big thanks to Super 7!

Toy Biz DC Superheroes Flash v2, Hawkman, Two Face

I started getting back into the DC Superheroes line early last year. Even though the Kenner Super Powers line is superior in a lot of ways, this line has a nostalgic value for me. Recently, I was able to add three more figures to my collection: Hawkman, Two Face, and the second version of the Flash! Version 2 is a HUGE upgrade over Version 1. V2 Flash doesn't rely on a wind up action feature so it actually has arm articulation. Now Flash can actually do some better posing... let alone throw a punch! V2 Flash also comes with a Quicksilver/Silver Surfer-esqe platform. It even moves forward on its own if you pull it backwards. Toy Biz vs Kenner. The Kenner figure is obviously the better choice. Star Wars Power of the Force Wave 1 Collection

I've always loved Star Wars. It was something that just always seemed to be a part of my life. I have mentioned before how I was able to benefit greatly from having older cousins who grew out of their need for toys and passed them down to my brother and I. With Star Wars, it was no different. We were given a good 30ish vintage figures as well as a well used Millenium Falcon that was missing quite a few pieces and we loved them. Just like we did with Masters of the Universe and other toy lines, whenever my brother and I had a chance to visit a garage sale or an antique shop, we looked for more Star Wars stuff to add to our collections. It was the late 80's and early 90's so there weren't really any other options. Eventually, the Justoys Bend-Ems came out. We bought many of these but preferred the figures that were closer to the 3 3/4 scale. That Leia, 3PO, Yoda and R2-D2 filled some nice holes in my collection. Mega Bloks Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2016 - Big Update

This will be a big update, as I had quite a few things all arrive around the same time! 1 - Titanus..?? Starting this collection began a massive Ebay search on my part to find other things that could help fill it out, specifically, something for Titanus. It didn't take along to find out that in 2003, Mega Bloks made a Brachio Zord for the Dino Thunder series. At first, the color scheme had me feeling a little iffy... but then I remembered that there had also been a special Titanus toy with similar colors. Here it is compared with some other Zords. Obviously, the scale works pretty well. The Brachio Zord was supposed to function as a Command Center and Carrier, so it has some opening compartments. Custom Remco/Zoloworld style Conan the Barbarian

Conan has always been a favorite of mine. He is the end all and be all of Barbarian/Fantasy heroes. I got my start, like most, from the Arnold films but later on I would be sucked into the Savage Sword of Conan series by Marvel. I knew there was a Remco version of the figure but the price point for him has always been too high for me to toss at a single toy. Funko had planned a Conan series for their Savage World line that I was pretty excited for but that seems to have been scrapped. Recently, I remembered about the Zoloworld series of toys. Mega Construx Masters of the Universe - Battle for Eternia 5 Pack

Growing up in the late 80's and early 90's, I was able to enjoy the best of both decades. One of my all time favorites has always been Masters of the Universe. I grew up with the original toys all handed down to me by older cousins and I consumed all else that I could find. Secret of the Sword was a frequent Blockbuster rental at my house. On my 10th Birthday, a friend of mine tracked down a He-Man and Masters of the Universe cartoon VHS tape that I treasured. He even wrapped it in MOTU wrapping paper that I was very sad to have to rip open. I wasn't a fan of the New Adventures cartoon but my brother and I were sure to grab He-Man, Skeletor, and Flipshot from K B Toys.
