Toy Biz Batman Batmobile

Recently, I learned that the Toy Biz Batmobile was a two seater! Talk about a game changer. I loved my Kenner Batmobile, it had the engine missile, machine guns, and the pop out/rotating fire effect, but it could only hold Batman. As a 1966 Batman devotee, I always wanted Robin to ride batarang so that he could hear lectures about automobile safety as he approached his 16th birthday. It took a bit of searching but I found a pretty good one in $50 range on Ebay.

The stickers were included but I decided not to apply them.

I love the chrome features over the gold hubcaps on the Kenner Batmobile.

The passenger seat is everything for me with this.

The gear shift opens secret missile launchers in the front.

The Bat Trunk was an interesting feature. It has a lot of depth, which I guess can be useful for taking criminals to Arkham, or disposing of their bodies. I guess everyone has competing views of the Caped Crusaders these days.

The Cocoon is a nice add on and can double as a dust cover.

Toy Biz DC Superheroes Flash v2, Hawkman, Two Face

I started getting back into the DC Superheroes line early last year. Even though the Kenner Super Powers line is superior in a lot of ways, this line has a nostalgic value for me. Recently, I was able to add three more figures to my collection: Hawkman, Two Face, and the second version of the Flash! Version 2 is a HUGE upgrade over Version 1. V2 Flash doesn't rely on a wind up action feature so it actually has arm articulation. Now Flash can actually do some better posing... let alone throw a punch! V2 Flash also comes with a Quicksilver/Silver Surfer-esqe platform. It even moves forward on its own if you pull it backwards. Toy Biz vs Kenner. The Kenner figure is obviously the better choice. Star Wars Power of the Force Wave 3 Collection

Wave 3 kind of feels more like Wave 2.5. We received 3 more figures from the Empire Strikes Back and 1 from both Episodes IV and V. The time for the Red Lightsaber backing card was almost over as we were inching closer to Shadows of the Empire which introduced the new Lightsaber color packaging refresh for the line. It feels weird that we didn't get more figures with Red Cards. The majority of this line was going to happen with Green Cards, through either Power of the Force or Power of the Jedi. Looking back, it feels odd that Power of the Jedi didn't just refresh the Lightsaber again with blue. Oh well, here are the figures! Hoth Gear Han Solo My first Han Solo was the vintage Hoth Han Solo so it was cool seeing this figure released. These days, you will see a lot of discussion online about the coloring of Han's jacket (is it brown or blue?) or why he was wearing a cap that we didn't see in the film. Star Wars Vintage The Mandalorian Wave 1

I don't need to tell anyone reading this anything about the Mandalorian, so let's get to the toys. As a fan of the Vintage and Power of the Force 2 era style of toys, I was pretty excited to find out about the Retro style figures being made. Wave 1 is pretty great, I only wish that we had more characters. Wave 2 will be here soon but it also is focusing on big names. As a fan of B list Star Wars characters, I'm slightly nervous that some figures won't make it into this line. Despite that, I plan on getting everyone that I can. I have spoken. Greef Karga Carl Weathers was a great bit of casting. Not only because he is such a great actor but because many of us know him from the late 70's and 80's, the same era that gave us Star Wars. In a show that is trying to bring us back to the Original Trilogy timeline, Weathers becomes a bridge of nostalgia. Cara Dune Cara was my favorite secondary character in this series. King Arthur and the Knights of Justice - Lord Viper

I recently saw a tweet that stated that the best things of the 90's were really just backwash from the 80's. I'm still not sure if that is true but it does come up here with King Arthur and the Knights of Justice. It didn't last long but I loved it, especially that theme song! Definitely brought back feelings of Boorman's Excalibur. Also, the Round Table and Suit Up moments felt a lot like M.A.S.K. The biggest connection might be Masters of the Universe. A lot of the same voice actors from the New Adventures of He-Man show up in this series. Garry Chalk, who played He-Man in the New Adventures and Man at Arms in the 200X MYP series plays our main henchman and leader of the Warlords, Lord Viper. Also, let's not forget the Black Wing/Stratos similarities: One further connection, is that Mattel also created the toys for the short lived series. GoBots: Crasher, Sparky, Rest-Q

Let's just get it out of the way. Transformers is the better show, series, story, idea, etc. Hasbro and Marvel just really knocked it out of the park. The action, drama, and depth of the franchise is pretty unparalleled. Honestly, outside of Iron Giant, how many companies made you genuinely sad about the death of a robot. Skyfire and Optimus, we're looking at you. Moving on, I always loved the GoBots toys. I loved their look, their scale, and their articulation. Yes, they rarely came with accessories but they didn't come across as a brick with moving forearms either. Sorry, Hound. And, for better or worse, they almost always looked like their animated counterpart or better. I won't get into Ironhide or Bumblebee because I'm really not try to put down the Transformers. I'm just suggesting that the GoBots definitely had some strengths. They even had playsets and vehicles, which I'll get into later. (How great would it have been to have a pl...
