Toy Biz Marvel Superheroes Punisher Van

Out of all the vehicles, playsets, and accessories Toy Biz ever produced for the Marvel Superheroes line, the Punisher Van was the most realistic and comic accurate. And to think, it might not have been made if it wasn't for the fact that they were just reusing the mold from their Joker Van from the Batman line!

The grill lowers to reveal two swivel guns.

I love all of the stickers for this thing. Very campy but they look great.

I'm missing one of the guns at the moment.

And a massive machine gun trailer that hitches up to the van.

The top hatch pops open to reveal a rooftop machine gun.

I wish there was a chair because the posing becomes a little awkward. Still, it's a cool feature.

You'd smile too if your van was this ready to paint the town red.

And of course, the pop out, razor sharp hubcaps. Because, why not?

Funko - Savage World - Thundercats Wave 1

Masters of the Universe has always been one of my favorite franchises. There is a particularly visceral charm to it that has captivated my imagination for years. Thundercats falls into that same category. Since I was born in 1986, I wasn't old enough to have watched the show's original run. However, I did have the action figures for Lion-O and Jackalman and a coloring book that told the story of the Thundercats search for their missing Time Capsule. These were more than enough to hook me on the franchise. I was able to rent a few VHS episodes from Blockbuster in early 90's but I wasn't able to fully grasp the glory of the refugees of Thundera until Toonami added it to its programming. This show really had a lot going for it. The animation was fantastic, the characterizations and voice acting were superb and the music was enthralling. Star Wars Power of the Force Wave 3 Collection

Wave 3 kind of feels more like Wave 2.5. We received 3 more figures from the Empire Strikes Back and 1 from both Episodes IV and V. The time for the Red Lightsaber backing card was almost over as we were inching closer to Shadows of the Empire which introduced the new Lightsaber color packaging refresh for the line. It feels weird that we didn't get more figures with Red Cards. The majority of this line was going to happen with Green Cards, through either Power of the Force or Power of the Jedi. Looking back, it feels odd that Power of the Jedi didn't just refresh the Lightsaber again with blue. Oh well, here are the figures! Hoth Gear Han Solo My first Han Solo was the vintage Hoth Han Solo so it was cool seeing this figure released. These days, you will see a lot of discussion online about the coloring of Han's jacket (is it brown or blue?) or why he was wearing a cap that we didn't see in the film. King Arthur and the Knights of Justice - Lord Viper

I recently saw a tweet that stated that the best things of the 90's were really just backwash from the 80's. I'm still not sure if that is true but it does come up here with King Arthur and the Knights of Justice. It didn't last long but I loved it, especially that theme song! Definitely brought back feelings of Boorman's Excalibur. Also, the Round Table and Suit Up moments felt a lot like M.A.S.K. The biggest connection might be Masters of the Universe. A lot of the same voice actors from the New Adventures of He-Man show up in this series. Garry Chalk, who played He-Man in the New Adventures and Man at Arms in the 200X MYP series plays our main henchman and leader of the Warlords, Lord Viper. Imperial Beasts Lot

When the vintage Masters of the Universe line came out, it was an out of the park, smash hit. Other companies wanted in on that MOTU cash so they produced similar toys for children to add to their collections. One of these companies was Imperial and two of their lines were Dragons, Knights, and Daggers and Robots, Lasers, and Galaxies. The box art alone were enough to tell children that He-Man would approve of these toys. Star Wars Power of the Force Deluxe Red Card Figures - Luke with Desert Sport Skiff, Han Solo with Smuggler Flight Pack, and Crowd Control Stormtrooper

When it comes to the 1990's Kenner Star Wars relaunch, there are a lot of things people love and a lot of things people hate. The Deluxe assortment was something I absolutely loved. These kinds of figures showcased Star Wars as a toy line vs a collector's line. And Kenner wasn't new to these types of gimmicks. Just one look at their Batman line and these things make complete sense. Unfortunately, I don't think everyone else felt the same way. The first wave of these figures were brand new concepts that felt like they could belong in the universe. The second wave that would come with the Green cards gave us more things that actually existed in the films, save one. I can only imagine what a deluxe Chewbacca or Darth Vader could have come with. My only complaint about these toys is that all of the backpack accessories will only fit VERY few figures. This is because they were made to insert into a medium sized hole in their back.
