Kre-O G.I. Joe Custom Overlord and Dictator

When I was a kid, I lost more than my fair share of G.I. Joes. Two however, have stuck in my memory because of how much I enjoyed playing with them.

The first wasn't even truly a G.I. Joe. He was from the U.S. Forces line by Remco: Tigerclaw.

The second, wasn't a G.I. Joe either, he was a Cobra: Overlord.

Obviously, I had a thing for masked characters with claws.

Anyway, I'd been wanting to add Overlord to my Kre-O collection. I tried making his original look but every combination of parts I tried just didn't appeal to me like the original figure. However, something happened today as I stared at my piles of spare parts. I still wasn't sure what I had in mind as my hands instinctively connected pieces but once they were finished I realized what I had done.

I had combined Overlord and Tigerclaw together.

Once that happened, my brain caught fire with ideas for who this version of Overlord was to be. Instead of being some random soldier making a play for the lead of Cobra, Overlord is now Cobra's lead jungle agent and has a similar standing to that of Major Bludd.

Whether cutting deals and sealing ties with third world dictators or protecting deep jungle science labs, Overlord will be there to further Cobra's interests.

Kre-O G.I. Joe Forces/ USS Flagg

Seeing this boxed set a few years ago is what got me back into collecting G.I. Joe. I had passed on the joy of G.I. Joe to my younger brothers, and to its credit, its one of the few franchises that has stuck with them. I don't feel bad about giving them my collection because most of my collections began when my cousins passed them on to me. Plus, with all of the vehicles and playsets, they are a little much to have up and displayed. Finding the Kre-O sets allowed me to keep showing my love for G.I. Joe on a smaller scale. Gamerztek 8-Bit HD and Gaming Relics custom cases

I'm still a fan of retro video games which probably doesn't surprise anyone since I still collect retro toys. When I play, I normally use the Retron 5 as my console because I love being able to save my progress at any point while using my cartridges. However, Retron 5 doesn't recognize a lot of multicarts and it also can't load game cheats for homebrews or game hacks. To compensate, I had been using Retro Bit's Retro Trio with an upscaler for HDMI. Its a great system and worked well but I decided it was time to upgrade to a console with a better HDMI output. After doing my online research, I decided to go with the 8-Bit HD. These are not the best screenshots as it is just me using my phone but I was blown away by the difference this made. Mega Bloks Mighty Morphin Power Rangers 2016 - Big Update

This will be a big update, as I had quite a few things all arrive around the same time! 1 - Titanus..?? Starting this collection began a massive Ebay search on my part to find other things that could help fill it out, specifically, something for Titanus. It didn't take along to find out that in 2003, Mega Bloks made a Brachio Zord for the Dino Thunder series. At first, the color scheme had me feeling a little iffy... but then I remembered that there had also been a special Titanus toy with similar colors. Here it is compared with some other Zords. Obviously, the scale works pretty well. The Brachio Zord was supposed to function as a Command Center and Carrier, so it has some opening compartments. Toy Biz Marvel Superheroes Spider-man Attack Tower

My Christmas Toy Biz Marvel Superheroes haul continued with the Spider-Man Attack Tower, thanks to my brothers. I was able to get the Marvel Superheroes Training Center back in 2019 and it was something I never thought I would ever own. The same goes with this set. These were things I used to salivate over on the back of my action figure cards while growing up. Especially with the short life span this line had. Obviously, the whole set is a gimmick-filled toy made to destroy your Spider-Man's joints but it is still pretty cool. I look forward to using it as a display piece in the future. Super 7 Hordak and She-Ra 2 pack

As I've mentioned before, I was lucky growing up between the decades of the 80's and 90's. I was the right age to have TMNT, the rebirth of G.I. Joe, and the X-Men but also benefit from the collections and fandoms of my older cousins. I was one of the few kids my age who had an extensive collection of Star Wars, M.A.S.K., G.I. Joe, Transformers, Thundercats, and Masters of the Universe. And, as I've also mentioned before, Masters of the Universe is probably my favorite franchise, so of course I had the vintage Hordak. The Horde was such an intriguing group of villains, whereas Skeletor ruled a group of territorial warlords, Hordak was the leader of a technologically advanced army with hideous generals at his side.
